The Theosophical Library has Perth's largest range of Theosophical, philosophical, spiritual and metaphysical books in Western Australia. There are over 9,300 items in the collection, including the reference library available only to TS members doing research. The library covers a myriad of subjects, from Alchemy to Zoroastrianism.

Library Membership Conditions

Library membership is open to the public. New library members are always welcome. There is a $50 or $100 refundable bond and a fee of $15 per 12 month membership. Items borrowed may be kept for up to 3 weeks and can be renewed over the phone. One or two items may be borrowed at a time depending on the bond amount paid. Members of the Theosophical Society are allowed to borrow a total of three items at a time. Society members are automatically members of the library.

1. Bond (refundable on cessation of membership):
- $ 50 for one item (book, DVD, CD)
- $100 for two items (books, DVD, CD)
Photo I.D. with name and address details are required to join the library.

2. Membership Fees:
12 months $15

3. Members with a $50 bond are entitled to borrow a total of 1 item (i.e. book, DVD, CD) at a time for a period of 3 weeks.
Members with a $100 bond are entitled to borrow a total of 2 items (i.e. books, DVD, CD) at a time for a period of 3 weeks.

4. Books, DVDs, CDs are not transferable to other library members.

5. Renewal of borrowed items may be done by telephone the first time, but must be returned to the Library for inspection before a second renewal can be given. No further renewals can then be given.

6. If Library membership fees are not renewed within 2 months following the due date, the bond will be forfeited if not claimed for refund.

PLEASE NOTE:

All Library staff are volunteers. Please assist us by returning borrowed items, and paying membership, on time.

Extensions on borrowing times can be given a maximum of twice. The borrowed items must then be returned to give others the opportunity to borrow them.

Lost or badly damaged books will incur a replacement fee.

Bookshop

Within the same premises we have a small metaphysical bookshop specialising in Theosophical and closely allied topics, subjects and authors. We do not have credit card or EFTPOS facilities and only cash or cheques can be accepted for payment.

Reading Room

For the convenience of members and visitors, there is also a large reading area, with comfortable seating and appropriate lighting. On the opposite side of the room there is also on display a special collection of rare first edition books of early Theosophical authors, some of which are signed, as well as invaluable reference works, for TS members only, which require special permission to access.
